❓ What is the APN?
The APN (Access Point Name) is the gateway through which your device connects to your mobile provider's network.
A correctly configured APN is essential for a stable and reliable mobile internet connection.
⚠️ Why is the APN Important?
An incorrectly configured or outdated APN can lead to the following issues:
-
No connection to the mobile network
-
Network registration failures
-
Gateway crashes
-
Continuous modem reboots
🆕 APN Configuration Starting from Firmware Version 21.11
From version 21.11 onward, you can manage the APN directly via the gateway’s web interface:
-
Navigate to Status → Modem Status
-
Ensure a SIM card is inserted and connected to the mobile network (roaming is also supported)
-
Enter the correct APN provided by your mobile network operator
🧼 Common Configuration Issues
In some cases, default factory-set APNs (e.g. telstra.internet
) may be preloaded.
These must be manually removed or overwritten to establish a proper connection.

💡 Additional Tips
-
Check signal strength: A signal better than –105 dBm is recommended
-
Restart required: After changing APN settings, reboot the gateway to apply changes
-
Roaming: If you're abroad, ensure data roaming is enabled and the APN is correctly configured
If problems persist, please contact your mobile provider’s customer service or reach out to our support team for assistance.
