β οΈ Important Notice Regarding the Outlook Plugin
The Outlook plugin is currently non-functional and not suitable for configuring Email-to-SMS.
Please use only the web interface of the gateway and perform manual SMTP tests for setup.
π οΈ Step 1: Configure SMTP Settings in the Gateway

Open the web interface of your gateway.

Navigate to: Configuration β General β SMTP (Simple Mail Transfer Protocol)

Enter your mail server parameters as follows:

Server: IP address or hostname of your mail server
-
Port: Typically
25
(without authentication) -
Authentication: Leave disabled, if your mail server allows it

IMAP: Enable IMAP in your mail account to allow email delivery and inbox polling
π οΈ Step 2: Create an Email-to-SMS Rule

Navigate to: Configuration β Email to SMS
-
Create a new rule with the following parameters:

Sender: e.g.
*@example.com
-
Recipient: Mobile number in the format
0049xxxxxxxx@sms.local

Routing: Via SMS gateway
-
Save the rule and test its functionality.
π§ͺ Step 3: Send a Manual SMTP Test Message
You can test functionality using an SMTP tool or Telnet:

Open a Telnet session to your mail server:

Enter the following commands (press Enter after each line):
β οΈ Make sure to include the period (.
) on a separate line to end the message.
If everything is configured correctly, the SMS should arrive on the recipient's device within a few seconds.

Character Encoding: Ensure that outgoing email encoding in your email client is set to Unicode (UTF-8).

Filtering: In production environments, it's recommended to filter by domain or sender to prevent misuse or spam.

Log Files: If issues occur, check the following log files for troubleshooting:
